Government continuously refines forest stewardship through ongoing improvement of policies, legislation and practices for forest inventory, timber supply planning, allowable annual cut determinations, silviculture, forest health, land-based research, climate change, and forest genetic resource management. Government's goal is to achieve sustainable management of British Columbia's forests.

BC Wildfire Service

In addition to a team of permanent staff which includes safety and training personnel, wildfire and fuel management experts, support and administrative staff, the BC Wildfire Service employs approximately 1,600 seasonal personnel each year.

BC Wildfire Service is an Indigenous Forestry Scholarship Program partner. The scholarship program includes a summer work placement (May-August) in one of the following locations:

Operations Supervisor

As Operations Supervisor, you’ll lead site Operations employees in safely carrying out all production-related activities while remaining in compliance with quality specifications and government regulations. Maintain a strong culture of teamwork, collaboration, and adherence to safety, respect, and operational policies at Drax. You’ll exemplify Drax’s Values, Vision and Mission while setting the standard for safety, production, budgets and team objectives.  

About the role:

Control Room Operator

As a Control Room Operator, you will be responsible for using HMI (computer system) tools, you will monitor all incoming fibre, managing the drying processes and production of pellets and finally the movement of pellets into railcars. You will ensure that the plant operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all regulations, contributing to Drax’s mission of a zero-carbon, lower-cost energy future.
