We’re looking for a Corporate Finance Supervisor to join our head office located in Vernon, British Columbia. Our head office houses Tolko’s corporate services groups including Sales, Marketing & Logistics, Finance, Accounting & Credit, IT, Procurement and Human Resources.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on accounting experience; preferably in the forestry industry.
  • Experience working with JDE financial systems and/or other financial ERP systems is considered an asset.
  • Certified Professional Accounting Designation required.
  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles, cost accounting, and consolidations.
  • Exceptional analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, accuracy, and initiative.
  • Collaborative and proactive thinking.
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, and team building skills.
  • Possess a high level of integrity and confidentiality.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and empower your team to deliver results.
  • Prepare corporate consolidated financial statements and budgets.
  • Maintain policies and procedures in accordance with ASPE.
  • Ensure systems security and support.
  • Provide formal supervision to employees, monitor their training and development, and conduct performance evaluations and coaching.
  • Develop processes and procedures to ensure controls and efficiencies are maintained in the Corporate and Sales General Ledger systems.
  • Prepare and coordinate government and external reporting requirements.
  • Participate in Corporate Financial Services planning and team initiatives.
  • Provide information for year-end income tax return preparation and the external auditors.
  • Prepare and/or review corporate and business unit financial analyses and reporting.
  • Prepare and/or review financial presentations for the leadership group, board of directors, internal and external interested parties.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of all subsidiary equity companies and investments.
  • Ensure general ledger account accuracy through account analysis and systems security.
  • Build and develop diverse teams and an inclusive culture.
  • Operate safely in accordance with work safe rules, regulations, and policies.
