Government continuously refines forest stewardship through ongoing improvement of policies, legislation and practices for forest inventory, timber supply planning, allowable annual cut determinations, silviculture, forest health, land-based research, climate change, and forest genetic resource management. Government's goal is to achieve sustainable management of British Columbia's forests.

BC Wildfire Service

In addition to a team of permanent staff which includes safety and training personnel, wildfire and fuel management experts, support and administrative staff, the BC Wildfire Service employs approximately 1,600 seasonal personnel each year.

BC Wildfire Service is an Indigenous Forestry Scholarship Program partner. The scholarship program includes a summer work placement (May-August) in one of the following locations:

Drax Group is a renewable energy company engaged in renewable power generation, the production of sustainable biomass and the sale of renewable electricity to businesses.

Drax operates a global bioenergy supply business producing industrial-grade fuel pellets for clean biomass energy to customers in Europe, North America and Asia. The company is focused on increasing their export capacity through terminals in two B.C. locations: Vancouver and Prince Rupert.
