We’re looking for a Certified Electrician to join our mill located in Lumby, British Columbia. Our White Valley Division produces the veneer used at our Armstrong Plywood facility. White Valley safely and sustainably produces 225,000 million square feet of veneer every year for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  •  An experienced electrician with a valid Journeyperson ticket.
  •  Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  •  A great communicator that can work independently while still contributing to the overall performance of the team.
  •  Previous experience in a forest products environment is beneficial.
  •  The ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is a bonus.

We value diversity at Tolko and know that experience and knowledge comes in many forms.  Even if you don't have all the qualifications above, please apply. We would love to hear your story and have you grow with us.

In this role you will:

  • Apply your knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems to troubleshoot electrical issues and come up with safe, reliable fixes.
  • Use your broad electrical experience to do preventative maintenance as well as installations and upgrades, working on a variety of motors, hydraulic motion controls, optimizers and encoders.
  • Come up with innovative solutions to improve equipment reliability.
  • Apply your organizational and planning skills to carry out maintenance projects and programs.

So, what’s in it for you?

  • You’ll take on an exciting new challenge with supportive team members.
  • You’ll earn a competitive wage of $46.09 per hour with added premiums for working shifts and signing up as a first aider.
  • You’ll be eligible for excellent benefits and access to our retirement plans, so you don’t have to choose between your bottom line and your wellbeing or your future.
  • You may also be eligible for relocation support including community connections so you can live (and play) where you work.
  • You’ll be supported in continued development through on-the-job and classroom training.
  • You’ll be part of a positive, innovative, and inclusive work environment.
