Position Overview:

Finning Canada is seeking a Service Supervisor to oversee our shop floor operations in Surrey. As a Service Supervisor with Finning, you will spend the majority of your time on the floor, partnering with shop & service operations, ensuring Finning continues to be first in class as it relates to safety, culture, quality, productivity and exceeding customer expectations.

For this position, the expected salary range is between $115,000 - $125,000 annually. This range reflects our commitment to providing competitive compensation that aligns with industry standards and your qualifications.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Champion a safe and respectful work environment, ensuring compliance with all safety standards, policies and procedures are implemented, and followed
  • Facilitate pre-job, mid-job, and post-job reviews to ensure safety and quality at every stage
  • Spend 80% of your time on the shop floor, ensure efficient allocation of manpower and resources, overseeing the scope of work and promptly addressing any issues
  • Support employee development through regular feedback conversations, support growth and development opportunities
  • Maintain high standards with daily time and service reports, cross-over reports, and field-to-shop transfers.
  • Determine appropriate tooling for jobs and navigate the warranty process with expertise.
  • Review inspection findings and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.

 

Qualifications:

  • Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification is an asset
  • Previous experience with Caterpillar equipment/engines is an asset
  • 3+ years working in the heavy equipment repair field is desirable
  • Ability to effectively lead, manage and motivate a team, experience with Unionized employees is an asset
  • Strong business acumen, attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize
  • Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written
