Position Overview:
Finning Canada is seeking Field experienced Gas Compression Technicians, (Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic) to support our customers in and around Fort Nelson on a 14 x 14 Shift rotation. The Gas Compression Technician is responsible for repairs, maintenance and overhauls on natural gas and diesel engines, compressors, generators and attachments.
We are looking for experienced Gas Compression Technicians who can hit the ground running. There is limited training available, you must have proven field experience, with an expectation of immediate positive impact for our customers.

Job Description:
- Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, overhaul and repair equipment related to Natural Gas Compression & Energy Power Generation: natural gas & diesel engines, compressors, generators and attachments
- Maintain Finnings’ Customer Service Commitments, interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
- Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
- Various related duties as required
- Qualifications:
- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Field Heavy Duty Technician
- Journeyperson Certification in Millwright, Mechanic, Electrician, and Automotive may also be considered
- Dedication to safety
- Solid organizational skills with ability to prioritize and work independently, without supervision often in remote locations.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with commissioning is considered an asset
- A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
- Gas Compression and Well Servicing experience will be preferred and recognized as an asset.
- Non-Caterpillar experience such as Waukesha, Ariel, Cummins,, etc is recognized as an asset.
*NOTE:
- This position is located in Fort Nelson on a 14x14 continuous shift rotation
- This will be camp work at customer sites.
- A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
- Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
- Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement
Union Membership: You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted from your pay. The terms and conditions of your employment will be governed by the collective agreement.
