Western Forest Products have a new opportunity for a Production Administrator in Vancouver, BC.

What You’ll Do: Acting as the liaison between the Sales & Marketing team, Manufacturing, Logistics, Finance, and external customers. The Production Administrator ensures that required reporting, documentation and records are maintained to the highest standards as well as ensuring that shipments and production allocations are coordinated.   

Who You Are: In order to be successful in the role, you have a strong attention to detail and comfortable working in a fast paced environment and ability to work to tight deadlines. Experience in lumber manufacturing and lumber inventory systems is considered an asset.

Work Environment: This role is to be performed out of our downtown office in Vancouver, B.C.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations

  • Responsible for lumber inventory flow through manufacturing sites of raw material and finished products;
  • Managing activities in our inventory system regarding work orders, production runs, codes, inventory uploads, consumption of inventory and mapping products:
  • Responsible for inventory coordination with mills and reman centres to ensure the timely and accurate movement of lumber as well as trouble shooting and resolving shipping issues;
  • Assist with order file maintenance;
  • Providing support to ensure shipments are made in a timely manner – process delivery slips/shipments and submitting time sensitive customs documentation;
  • Assist with shipment releases, monitoring shipping with Sawmills, remanufacturing plants and Logistics to ensure deadlines are met;
  • Daily and month end reconciliations of inventories.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary degree in business, or related subject;
  • 2 – 4 years of related experience in a related role, preferably in the lumber industry;
  • An understanding of lumber shipping, lumber calculations and lumber jargon is an asset;
  • Proficient use of Lumbertrack and Excel considered an asset.
