JOB SUMMARY: The GIS Technician will be responsible for providing mapping products and spatial analysis reporting to support operations.
Essential Functions:
- Developing and managing large spatial and attribute data sets and experience with database management tools and applications
- Managing projects and/or project components
- Preparing and presenting recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences
- Lead GIS projects from conception to completion including defining project scopes, timelines, and deliverables,
- Creating, publishing, and managing map services
- Ability to organize, prioritize and manage workload,
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Create, develop, and maintain spatial and attribute data bases used in Geographic Information System (GIS) applications, relational database management (RDBM) systems and other corporate business systems (FTA, Results, etc.)
- Populate, maintain data integrity, secure access to restricted data, maintain linkages between databases and update databases as information becomes available,
- Ensure clearances are follow provincial regulations.

- Position may require some outside travel.
- Overtime hours is anticipated at peak operation months.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Geographic Information Systems
- Experience utilizing QGIS, ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Story Maps, Collector, GPS, PSI Geomatica, programming in Python, Arcade & Visual Basic,
- Experience in forestry GIS work
- Ability to use Microsoft 365 products (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive) in a cloud-based environment.
- Ability to commute/relocate to Prince George, BC or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
